Insights into the Journey of ACIM – January 11, 2015

A very noticeable thing happens when you align your will with Gods, and listen to what the Holy Spirit has to say.  When thinking becomes erred or distored, when we begin to project, it is known and in that instant, gone.   And the more you align with God’s will, the quicker and sharper that awareness seems to be.

Lessons 1 through 10 seemed, when I read them at first, to be an attack on my brain, on myself.   And in truth what they did was show me where I was choosing to live.  That told me that I was choosing to live in alignment with what is not God’s will.  And where I had been living was somewhere torn between “ego” or self, and Spirit.  Lesson 11 was so interesting to me.  When I reside more in ego than Spirit, statements that attack the ego, will feel like an attack especially it seemed in the beginning.

Lesson 11 says:  My meaningless thoughts are showing me a meaningless world.

I remember looking at that exercise and thinking, wow, my thoughts are meaningless?  I’m meaningless? And it suddenly struck me that I was counting myself as far less than what I am created to be.  I was counting myself as my thoughts and I am not my thoughts.  And that hit me hard, as only God can, I am not my thoughts. I am as God created me.  And what we realize is that if we are to say that God is all knowing in the now and perfect in what he extends then we must count ourselves that way.

Whenever I see a meaningless world, I am seeing what is not there.  I am seeing what God did not create.  When I see what God created, when I see God in my fellow human beings, in creation, in beauty, in gratitude only then can I see a meaningful world.  Suddenly that sentence punctuated itself differently.  For all that is of God is meaningful.  There is no lack in God.

God gives us what is peaceful, what is love, what is wholly good without harm.  God gives us perfect love to give.  And so when we give it, we will receive it back.  As I meditated on that lesson, I realized that only what God gives is real and therefore meaningful.

We are in a place of learning because we need to learn and we desire to be here and learn, because the Spirit has managed to reach through and say hey here is a bit of wisdom and understanding if you would seek to know, than learn.  We know of Spirit that there is a way of peace and serenity within and perfect love.    Something has moved us to this point.

Only meaningful thoughts will show me a meaningful world and all that is meaningful is of God.

Luke 6:41
“Why do you look at the speck of sawdust in your brother’s eye and pay no attention to the plank in your own eye?

Our meaningless thoughts, cloud our vision, we do not see clearly looking through them. They cloud our vision and we project outwards and “make” a reality that is not there.

My meaningless thoughts are showing me a meaningless world, today let me see not what is not there, let me see only what is meaningful.
