Insights into the Journey of ACIM – Invitation to Healing – February 7, 2015

If sickness is separation, the decision to heal and to be healed is the first step toward recognizing what you truly want.  ACIM T. 11.II.1:1

The invitation to heal from the outside looking in, from the ego looking in, seems irrational.  It seems irrational because the Ego would never see that itself is irrational and in need of  healing and therefore projects its irrationality.  And yet, the separation Ego creates, from that which is inseparable from us, causes anxiety and hurt as we experience it through Ego.

It is because of this that we can heal seemingly in an instant.  God in us, as a parent is in a child, can not be escaped, it can not be cut out or cast aside.  The Holy Spirit guiding us fully can and will always steer us rightly.

Today the separation of those living in reality and those living in illusion is absolutely evident.  Healing is the beginning of realizing that we are part of God, an extension of His being.  What God has created is perfect, what we make, our egos, are not.  We can not serve two masters.  I used to read this sometimes as a challenge when I was young, it doesn’t mean that our egos don’t try but we can not serve two masters and have peace.

Those we love, who are slave to the ego of their own making, we help by seeing their Holiness.  That is always there in them.  There we can extend as God does our love, the Child of God’s love, encompassed by His love.  Without fear.  Without Ego. Once we begin to learn, we teach and while we teach we learn.  That is why “do unto others” really is an extension of what we are ourselves.  When we hurt we project hurt, we blame, we find justification, we feel in debted or feel owed.  When we extend from God’s love, how can we be owed?  It was never the Ego’s to give, only God’s because He is Love. And we know this because the Truth of God is with us for what is inseparably part of us is inseparable.

The Holy Spirit is there in us always but He cannot help us or heal us without our inviting Him to.  As we live with Spirit, we understand Spirit.  “And God said, “Let there be light.” and there was light and God saw that it was good.” And so it is.
