ACIM-Chapter 30- Insights into Part 3 – Beyond all Idols

Decide for idols and you ask for loss. Decide for Truth and everything is yours. – ACIM T.30.III.1

What a freedom to abandon idols.  We make idols of so much;  News, food, drugs, alcohol, money, “stuff”.  Just about anything can be made into an idol.  Decide for Idols and you decide for loss.  But there can be no loss if we are one with our Creator, if we give our will to Him and ask the Holy Spirit to make our will as His.  That is our free will, to choose God’s will or our own.

A Course in Miracles says in verse 3 that “Behind the search for every idol lies the yearning for completion.”  Yet, we are as God created us; whole and without need.  It is but our belief in the existence of separation that leaves us perceiving need. It is our belief…in that sentence we know we created that need.  God doesn’t create our beliefs, the ego does.  God simply is.  He is as He is, as he always has been, always will be.  And if we are complete with God, we have no need of Idols.  Even our brother Himself said, Love the Lord your God with all your heart.  We have no need of Idols.

10 Beyond all idols is the Thought God holds of you. Completely unaffected by the turmoil and the terror of the world, the dreams of birth and death that here are dreamed, the myriad of forms that fear can take; quite undisturbed, the Thought God holds of you remains exactly as it always was. Surrounded by a stillness so complete no sound of battle comes remotely near, it rests in certainty and perfect peace. Here is your one reality kept safe, completely unaware of all the world that worships idols, and that knows not God. In perfect sureness of its changelessness and of its rest in its eternal home, the Thought God holds of you has never left the Mind of its Creator, Whom it knows, as its Creator knows that it is there.

How simply wonderful.
